Earthbound Beginnings Guide
ANNOUNCEMENT Welcome to Wii U Reddit's source for news, pictures, reviews, videos, community insight, & anything related to Nintendo's 8th-generation console, the Wii U. Subreddit Guidelines HOVER FOR MORE INFO.All users are expected to be respectful to other users at all times. Walk away from enemies until they're a fair distance offscreen and they'll despawn.
You can also do this by entering and exiting areas/caves. This is useful constantly in tight spots where the game spawned a nasty enemy (or three) that you don't want to fight just then. The hardest part of the game is the beginning. Having more party members makes a huge difference. Buy teddy bears if you're stuck for this reason. There are a lot of obtuse moments in the game so don't feel bad about referring to so you can deal with erasers, trout flavored yogurt, and large sums of money that people can't see up close.Have fun. It's my favorite game. Others have said to grind which is smart. There are a lot of areas in the game that are prime for this. The further you get into the game the less you need to do it, or i should say its less important vs that beginning of the game. With no spoilers in mind i would not rule out the idea of checking a wiki if you get stuck.
The text-heavy nature of EarthBound may seem slow at first for modern gamers, but the subtle humor of the game and the full effect of the railroad-style RPG is lost if you ignore the NPCs. At the top, you can see the meteor glowing, but the police have set up a blockade so you can't get.
There are some pretty trolly 100% hidden things in this game that can stop your progress entirely.Somehow kid me was able to beat the game but going through it again had me scratching my head. I suspect at the time all my friends were playing and they just told me how to progress as it wasn't obvious.

Mother is the predecessor to EarthBound (Mother 2), the first game in the Mother series to be released in English. An English prototype exists but was never released. Mother has since been released on the Game Boy Advance as part of Mother 1+2; this also has not been localized. This guide is written with the English prototype in mind, although most of the time it will fit the Japanese version as well. The NES version was later localized and released for the first time worldwide in North America, Europe and Australia on June 15, 2015 via the Wii U Virtual Console, under the title EarthBound Beginnings.
